Microsoft Ignite (Digital) is live, and the tradition of new exciting announcements is true once again.
Doing the Keynote yesterday, Microsoft Loop caught my attention.
Microsoft Loop is basically a rebranded and further developed version of Microsoft Fluid that was announced back in 2019, with the introduction of a new App.
A new app
Microsoft brings a new Office app as well, that is designed for Hybrid work. At first glance, it looks like an Notion clone, but there is more going on.
Components, Workspaces, and Pages
Components
Components is a further development of Microsoft Fluid Components, which is interactive live elements, that we have known from Microsoft Teams, Onenote, etc. that enabled collaboration on various kinds of content in real time, directly in conversations together.
A Loop component button is coming to Teams conversations, with a bunch of components included. like:
- Voting table
- Agenda
- Status tracker
- Tasklist
Loop components also allow for third-party developers to create their own, and there is already support for multiple Atlassian solutions, like Jira.
Pages
Pages are bringing Loop components together in the style of a page, this enables users to collaborate in real-time on multiple components from various sources, at the same time.
Workspaces
Everything is tied together in Workspaces, this brings users a single with everything, that is important for a project, working area, etc.
Conclusion
I’m really excited for the release of Microsoft Loop, and it’s on my watchlist for sure.
I’m certain Microsoft Loop is going to decrease frustrations by users, that cannot find the content they are looking for, in a specific project, and therefore it will increase productivity as well.
Win-Win 👍
